Eimear Hillard, Field Sales Representative at CPM, shares with us her career journey and what she likes most about her role.
What does your current role entail?
My role within CPM is a Sales Representative on the Eir account.
How long have you been working in your current role?
I've been in my current role for just over 2 years.
What role were you working in before moving to your current role?
Before I began with CPM I had worked for 5 years as a Sales Assistant at a retail shop.
What do you enjoy most about your current job?
What I enjoy most about my role is that no two days are ever the same. It's definitely not your average 9 to 5 office role.
What characteristics do you feel are needed to be a successful Sales Representative?
To be a successful rep you need to have a goal in mind. In order to achieve that goal, you must always have plan. So to be a successful Sales Representative you need to be organised and always be focused on the finish line.
How does it feel to work in a sector that has been traditionally male dominated?
Working in a male dominated sector probably brings out the more competitive side of me to be honest. The great thing about my work is that my male teammates are great with me. They have always encouraged me and supported me!
What advice would you give to women starting out their sales career?
For any women starting in a sales role I would recommend to have your goals in mind, whether its personal or professional goals. Always have plan and stay focused. Anything in life can be achieved if you want it bad enough.
Can you tell me about a female role model who has inspired you throughout your career?
I have two female role models in my life my sisters. They have always worked so hard so I have always looked up to them.

Press for Progress is important to me mostly because I'm a mum and we need to break the barriers for the generations of women to come, be role models for them.
