Back to School is not only a challenge for kids but also a challenge for parents that need to juggle between work, school and the kids’ activities.
We, at CPM decided to give you 5 tips to start this new school year smoothly.
1. Get prepared the night before
Good preparation is the key to a successful morning start. It’s easier to get ready if you don’t have everything to prepare in the morning. Decide what you and the kids are going to wear, prepare their bag for school and lay out the breakfast table before going to bed the night before.
2. Make a To Do list
Being organised at home is important but being organised at work will help you get through the day more easily. Make a to do list before you leave work every evening for the next day so you can be sure you won’t forget something important.
3. Plan your Day
Having a To Do list won’t be useful if you don’t know how to manage your time. You need to set reasonable time frames to get work done, get through your emails and phone calls. Planning your time will also permit you to spend more time with your kids.
4. Meal Planning
Establish the menu for the week in advance so you don’t lose time in the supermarket wondering what you could buy, or running back and forwards to the shops every day for each dinner. Making a weekly meal plan will assure you prepare healthy meals for your family and avoid the temptation to call for a takeaway. Also make meals that are easy to freeze like lasagne, sheperds pie to name a few,so you can put some of what you cooked in the freezer and serve it on days when you don’t have time to cook.
5. Get Bluetooth
Get Bluetooth in the car so that if you do have to pick up the kids you are still contactable when you leave the office for teleconferences.
